The Role:
We're looking for a People and Talent Specialist to join our People team. Reporting into the People Director, you'll be joining a small but mighty team of two - you'll be the operational heartbeat of the team!
You'll be responsible for owning essential processes across the full employee lifecycle (onboarding through to offboarding), identifying opportunities to improve and optimise workflows, and creating and delivering engagement initiatives that create a seamless and exceptional employee experience for our people. Your detail-oriented mindset will elevate our efficiency, while your creativity will foster meaningful connections across our remote-first team.
This is a remote-flexible role - in practice this means that we meet in person as a team every 6-8 weeks, and the rest of the time you can work remotely in the country the role is hired in (UK).
In line with our salary framework, the salary for this role is £36,400 - £41,500 depending on experience.
Around 80% of this role will be spent on People related activity, with around 20% on Talent - please note that this is not a recruitment role.
Where you will spend your time:
People Operations & Optimisation
Maintaining and continuously improving People systems and tools (e.g, HiBob, Deel, Lattice, Asana, Notion) ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and a user-friendly experience while optimising workflows and team collaboration
Overseeing core People Experience touchpoints including onboarding, offboarding, probations, and employment changes, ensuring a seamless experience for our people whilst identifying areas for improvement and optimisation
Ensuring compliance with country-specific employment laws and regulations by maintaining accurate employee records, regularly reviewing policies and making sure they are up to date and reflect our ways of working, and partnering with Finance to manage payroll processes with precision and timeliness
Acting as the primary contact for our people and managers on topics such as benefits, policies and people topics, delivering a great experience to multiple stakeholders
Culture, Engagement & Events
Designing and executing creative initiatives to connect and engage our remote-first team, ensuring that Flash Pack’s focus on unique experiences is reflected throughout our employee journey. This includes planning and delivering virtual and in-person events, managing key communications, and maintaining a dynamic events calendar
Championing initiatives that enhance employee wellbeing, inclusivity, and belonging by collaborating with team leads to sustain a positive, inclusive workplace culture, and driving programs that foster meaningful connections and a strong sense of community
Supporting with recruitment activities to deliver a seamless recruitment process - you'll play a key role in identifying areas for improvement, and building streamlined processes to create a great experience for our candidates and hiring teams
Leading and delivering pre-boarding and onboarding programs creating a memorable experience for all new hires that sets them up for success
Monitoring and ensuring the accuracy of all People data and providing the relevant stakeholders with the data needed to make sure we are making data-led decisions and using insights to recommend improvements
Collaborating with the broader people team (Director of People and Senior People and Talent Lead) by owning, delivering and supporting on projects within the People Roadmap
You've got a true passion for creating an amazing people experience that focuses on the moments that matter
You've got experience in a People function, ideally in a fast-paced or remote-first environment (if you've worked in a small, lean team this would be a bonus!)
You've got a knack for systems and process optimisation with a focus on efficiency and accuracy
You love problem solving, taking a solution-orientated approach to challenge and are proactive and adaptable
You've got strong organisational skills and have the ability to juggle multiple priorities seamlessly
You've got strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships at all levels
Even Better If:
You've got experience planning and executing team events in remote or hybrid settings
You've got knowledge of HRIS platforms or applicant tracking systems (we use HiBob and Team Tailor but you don't need to have used these previously)
You're familiar with UK/US employment law
We’re after the right person and if you don’t quite hit all the criteria, we’d still encourage you to apply. We’d love to chat and see if you could be a great fit for Flash Pack.
Logistics 🛠️:
Our interviews take place on Google Meet and usually consist of the following stages:
Introductory chat with our talent team to see if there is a match (30 mins)
An interview with the hiring manager to hear more about your background and experience and to give you a deep dive into the role (45 mins)
A case study and presentation with the hiring manager and a key stakeholder to see how you’d solve a problem (60 mins)
A culture and ways of working interview to see your ways of working are a match with ours (30 mins)
Some roles may have extra stages, but we will let you know as soon as possible in the process if this is the case.
Diversity and Inclusion
We’re led by a BAME, female CEO and building a diverse and inclusive team is incredibly important to us which is why we are building diversity and inclusion into the company hiring, performance and progression framework.
We see our diversity as a key competitive advantage which is why we are committed to hiring top talent regardless of race, religion, colour, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or status as an individual with a disability.
If you have an additional accessibility or other requirement we haven’t considered, we will do our best to adapt and make sure your needs are met.
If you would like to talk to us about these efforts, or have suggestions for how we can do better, we would love to hear from you.
Once you apply, you will be sent a short Equality, Diversity & Inclusion survey, it would help us immensely if you can complete it.
